What is a Horizontal Silo?

A horizontal silo is a low-profile bulk storage vessel designed to store powders and fine granules at sites with height limitations or frequent relocation needs. Unlike vertical silos, the tank lies horizontally on a skid or support frame, simplifying loading, transport, installation and maintenance, while still ensuring sealed, contamination-free storage.

How Does a Horizontal Silo Work?

Material is pneumatically or mechanically filled through the top/side inlet with over-fill protection. Inside, aeration pads or fluidization nozzles promote smooth flow. An integrated screw conveyor or rotary feeder meters discharge to your process, while a pulse-jet dust collector keeps the system dust-tight during filling. Level sensors (min/max/continuous) provide inventory visibility, and the skid-mounted layout allows fast placement with minimal civil work.
